wiske en suske

Last saturday I was on the market and I bought some second hand suske en wiske comics as I promised Midas I would bring him some next time I would come to Costa Rica. I got some of the earlier ones as they are my favorites. I never read books twice or see movies again so after I read all those suske en wiske comics as a kid (my uncle was a collector of comics) I never read them again and I didn’t like the ones that were made after Vandersteen died. The new ones are computer colored and not as funny and I really don’t like the baggy Tshirt and army pant sneaker outfit of Suske. Just check out how he is rocking those tight pants folded up at the bottom with that red shirt. Why ever change that classic look?
Off course I couldn’t resist opening one of those comics again and before I knew it I was all into it. To my surprise and delight I had forgotten all of the plots and story lines so I could read them again like new! Well almost, i would get some flashbacks of course and I pick up on some things from a different angle than when I used to read them as a kid. I guess that is the idea with reading books twice. I should try it once, maybe…
I hope Willy doesn’t mind me switching wiske and suske just to see what it would look like crossdressed. Wiske can easily rock Suske’s outfit but i don’t know about suske in a skirt although I think it’s still better than those army pants and oversized Tshirt which would even look bad on Wiske. Actually when the skirt would go over the knees he could get away with this in certain Islamic countries. It’s funny how girls can easily get away with wearing mens clothes but visa versa it becomes sketchy or is that just a matter of time and a cultural point of view? Islam is on the move so maybe sooner then later dresses for men could become a thing. But then again the Scottish have been wearing skirts for centuries now and it never really caught on…
