killer carrots

It must have been a month ago that I read in the science section of my newspaper that it is not healthy to eat to many carrots. I always believed carrots to be one of the most healthiest things you can eat and I eat lots of em. But it turned out when tested on lab mice carrots decreased cancer risk but when double checked on humans there were actually cases were it increases the chances of cancer. I forgot the details of the article and it does make you curious about how the mice got cancer in the first place and how the humans felt about being screwed over in a test like that. Never mind that, clearly the kid in this photo is living proof that carrots give you cancer. Don’t panic! You are only at risk if you drink it concentrated in carrot juice every day like this kid does… It’s not all bad, carrots are still supposed to be good for your eyes and this has something to do with enhancing the natural UV protection of the eyes. But of course a pair of the right sunglasses look much better then a carrot does. One fact I did learn just now is that carrots were actually colored orange by the Dutch in the 16th century to honor the royal House of Orange. Apparently they used to be yellow or white but they did some cross breeding to make them turn orange. So amazingly the carrot turns out to be one of the first orange merchandising tools.
